Volumetric Screw Feeder

Project: Volumetric screw feeder

Customer need: Our client is a renowned Mexican manufacturer of bricks, tiles and blocks with a presence in the United States and Latin America. Within the brick manufacturing process, it is essential to color the different models they handle, pigments made with Manganese Oxide and Iron Oxide base dosed constantly to the main product. The company has its formulas developed with already defined quantities of these pigments, in a wide range of 60 to 800 kg / hr, according to the brick model to be manufactured. The main problem was the means of dosing these abrasive pigments, since it required a precision of +/- 5% of the dosed product, machinery that works 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Bega Engineering: Two independent machines were proposed to store and dose the two main pigments Iron Oxide and Manganese Oxide, each container would store 3 tons of product and be dosed by the central part of the container, each doser was designed specifically for each product, taking  the physical characteristics of each of them. Both dosers would be helical screw and could be modified capacity efficiency between ranges of 60kg / hr to 800kg / hr by means of variable frecuency driver. These equipment are robust design for works 24 hours, 7 days a week. The margin of error when dosing is +/- 3%.
